What We Do:

The Skyral Business Development team is responsible for realising our company’s ambitious growth goals, breaking into new markets and maintaining relationships with long-term clients. We’re seeking a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in central government departments including but not limited to the Home Office, FCDO, MOJ, Department for Science, Innovation & Technology.
Due to the nature of this role, Skyral can only consider applications from candidates who possess SC clearance or are eligible to obtain it.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Demonstrated track record in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the central government sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the central government market, encompassing technological, regulatory, and procurement facets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal aptitude, enabling the cultivation of enduring client relationships.
  • Familiarity with bid/opportunity governance procedures, such as Shipley methodology.
  • Strategic mindset with a proven capacity to devise and implement growth strategies.
  • Capability to function autonomously and collaboratively, adeptly juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Readiness to travel as necessary for client meetings, industry gatherings, and other professional commitments.
  • Security clearance will be necessary, with levels contingent upon the position.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the market sector through thorough market research, competitive analysis, and strategy formulation for market entry or expansion.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing clients by engaging in regular communication, understanding their needs, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch services and solutions.
  • Lead negotiating contracts and agreements with clients and partners, striving to meet sales targets by comprehending client needs and aligning them with the company’s offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and project management, to ensure client requirements are fulfilled and projects are executed successfully.
  • Offer insights into market trends and customer preferences to inform the development of new products or services. Stay updated on market trends and expand professional networks by participating in industry events, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards specific to the central government sector, including compliance with export controls and security requirements.
